Addressing Noise Concerns with SAI’s Expertise

A biomass plant situated in France, recently faced complaints regarding noise emissions at steam discharge areas. To address this issue, the client engaged SAI engaged to identify effective solutions to mitigate noise and improve the comfort of both residents and operators.

Acoustic Measurements and Modeling: Establishing the Baseline

études et mesures acoustiques

Initially, SAI conducted a comprehensive acoustic assessment of the site. We took noise to characterize the existing conditions and define precise noise reduction requirements. Through predictive acoustic modeling, the teams determined the optimal specifications for the discharge silencers to be installed, ensuring maximum efficiency even before the commencement of work.

Efficient and Timely Silencer Replacement

In collaboration with its sister company CL2R, SAI undertook the removal and replacement of the existing silencers during the site’s maintenance shutdown. The operation was carried out within a shortened timeframe compatible with operational requirements. The new vent silencers now effectively reduce noise disturbance for local residents. It also ensures the safety and comfort of on-site operators.

Results Aligning with Acoustic Studies

The installed silencers achieved the acoustic gain projected by the modeling, resulting in a significant reduction in noise levels. The emissions, in sensitive areas, related to the operation of the discharge silencers are below regulatory  imposed by the decree of January 1997 for ICPE’s installations. This realisation in industrial noise control, encompassing acoustic measurements and studies, as well as the design and installation of high-performance silencers. SAI’s expertise is higlights in this success.

Collaboration between SAI and CL2R helps ensure the implementation of solutions for industrial clients, which is a key factor for success.

This project demonstrates the synergy between SAI and CL2R. They both belong to the Viverde Group, combining operational responsiveness with technical expertise on site. This intervention reinforces SAI’s position as a leading player in the industrial acoustics market, capable of addressing complex noise reduction challenges while complying with regulatory standards and environmental considerations.
